The Jesus Tomb... What a Bunch of Hooey!

Have you ever seen a bunch of people so hungry for something that they will readily consume any and all substitutes for the real thing? We want diet drinks that taste exactly like Coke or the regular soda of your choice. Why can't anybody just drink the real item in moderation instead of complaining? We desire all of the taste and none of the carbs or calories. Why should it surprise us that the fake stuff is bad for our health? It's chemically altered. There's a reason why the real thing is the real thing! Go figure...

Well, enough ranting for one day - on to what I wanted to bring to your attention. Have you heard the newest, sensational debunking of the Bible? The "Tomb of Jesus", was supposedly unearthed in 1980, outside of Jerusalem. Why are we just hearing about it now? It appears that the Discovery Channel needed to make a buck off of a hungry and curious "clientele", who are desiring something from or about Jesus, but are unwilling to make a connection with the real thing. I read that the likelihood of this tomb being the final resting place of Jesus and his "family" was 600 to 1. I can get better odds on the Cubs winning the World Series and unfortunately as a Cub fan, I know how likely that is.

Anyway, I came across a good article about this bogus tomb and thought I would share it for anyone who is interested in finding out more about the claims put forth by the Discovery Channel and their "experts". No need to write your congress-person on this one, just know that there will be more to endure in the future as God uses our media to develop our faith and our trust in His faithfulness.

Christians again prove many are unabashed enemies of the truth

Hello John,

Did it ever dawn on you that perhaps God is using the media to help me "open the eyes of the blind?" Did you ever consider that religion is the strong delusion spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:11? Would God's servants be involved in such widespread raping of children and the world-wide deceptive cover-up? What about the rich and powerful Vatican, Europe, and the USA? Don't the prophecies predict their downfall from the breath of my lips and the rod of my mouth? Are you 100% sure that you are not following the grand deception warned of in the Hebrew prophecies?

After finally watching the Jesus Tomb documentary and the hour of critical look "debates" following it, I am left with the sad conclusion that a large percentage of Christians will always oppose the truth, regardless of how it is presented. It has been amazing to watch people who regularly oppose critical thought and science hypocritically assert that critical thought and science supports so-called "biblical evidence" in their efforts to debunk this archeological find and associated theories.

Reflect upon the fact that Christian leaders are howling about the truth of this archaeological find and associated theories, but are steadfastly and unabashedly opposed to having to prove the truth about the many dubious assertions and contradictions throughout the New Testament and Christianity. Many of these same people have the gall to complain about "theatrics" used to present these findings, as if Christianity has never turned a profit or stooped to even slicker and far more dubious methods pushing their stories and historical interpretations. It is rank hypocrisy for Christians to attack the presentation of this documentary as unbalanced when Christian history and current activities fall far short of what they are demanding in this situation. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, because what goes around comes around.

Seven Star, thank you for the attention you give to a minor blog. I am flattered by your reply.

Everyone is certainly welcome to form their own opinion and none of them necessarily have to be right. I find it interesting that Seven Star Hand claims to be the messiah himself. That tends to discredit much of what comes from his keys. Truth has apparently become open to individual definition and interpretation. I'll stick with the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Thank you.

It was on the Discovery Channel. They showed it at least twice over the weekend. I'm sure it will be on again. If you have a search feature on your channel guide, you might try it as well.
